Enrolment at St John the Baptist

Thank you for considering St John's for your child's primary education.

Your choice of schooling is one of the most important decisions made on behalf of your child. For over 85 years, St John's has been preparing students to be successful, independent learners. We offer a challenging and engaging program of learning from Reception to Year 6 and a wide range of opportunities for students to discover and develop their talents and interests within a caring and supportive environment.

Our main entry point is Reception, however applications for enrolment are invited at all year levels. We encourage interested families to lodge an application for each child as early as possible. At St John's we welcome all cultures and faith traditions.

In accordance with SACCS policy, the following will be the commencement dates for Reception:

  • If your child turns 5 on or before 30th April, they can start school at the beginning of that year (Term 1).
  • If your child turns 5 on or after 1st May until 31st October, they can start school in the July (Term 3) intake.
  • If your child turns 5 on or after 1st November, they will start school the following year.

If there are special circumstances that you would like to discuss please make an appointment with our Principal.

Little JBs Transition Program

At St John’s we are committed to working in partnership with families to ensure transition into the next stage of your child’s education is a happy, safe and positive experience.

Our Little JB’s program starts before your child begins school.  The program involves a range of experiences that will help your child transition into the school environment.

The transition process is an essential component in your child’s educational and social development.  The program is designed to create a secure environment where your child can make friends and develop positive relationships with others.
