How enrolment works

The enrolment process at St John the Baptist Catholic School begins with a School Tour where you will have the chance to ask questions as you explore.  Once you have lodged your Application Form we will contact you for an interview.  One term prior to the start of school your child will be invited to take part in our transition program - Little JB's.

For further information or assistance with your application, please contact the enrolments team by email info@stjohnpl.catholic.edu.au or phone (08) 8218 3300.

When should I apply?

In South Australia, most children start school the year they turn 5 or 6 years old.

When your child is eligible to begin school will depend on their date of birth.  Please see our Enrolment Calculator for your child's school start date.

At St John the Baptist Catholic School we have two intakes per year, one in January (Term 1) and one in July (Term 3).

If your child turns 5 on or before 30th April, they can start school at the beginning of that year (Term 1).
If your child turns 5 on or after 1st May until 31st October, they can start school in the July (Term 3) intake.
If your child turns 5 on or after 1st November, they will start school the following year.

In South Australia, all children must be in school by their 6th birthday – this is the compulsory school age.
